WASSAIL

INGREDIENTS:

bullet6 cinnamon sticks, broken
bullet12 whole cloves
bullet8 cups water
bullet1/2 of a 12-oz can frozen cranberry juice cocktail concentrate
bullet1/2 of a 12-oz can frozen raspberry juice blend concentrate
bullet1 can (6 oz) can frozen apple juice concentrate
bullet1/2 cup sugar
bullet1/3 cup lemon juice
bullet6 tea bags
bulletApple slices for garnish

DIRECTIONS:  Prepare spice bag by cutting a double thickness of cheese cloth into a 6-inch square.  Place cinnamon sticks & cloves in center & bring up the corners & tie with a clean string.  Combine water, cranberry, raspberry & apple juice, sugar & lemon juice in a 4 or 5 quart crockery cooker.  Add spice bag, cover & cook on low heat for 5 hours (or high for 2 1/2-3 hours).  Remove the spice bag & discard, about 5 minutes before serving add the tea bags & allow to stand 5 minutes, remove tea bags.  Ladle beverage into cups topped with a slice of apple for garnish.
