DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 325 F 162.78 C). Grease & flour 2 loaf pans. In a bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, salt & zest. Using a mixer beat the butter & sugar until light & fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, beating well. Add vanilla & beat until blended. Beat in half the flour mixture. Beat in the milk & lemon juice. Beat in the remaining flour mixture. Spoon into pans, smoothing the top. Bake in the middle of your oven 35-45 minutes or until golden & a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in the pan on a rack 15 minutes then invert onto rack to cool completely. SERVINGS: 10-12 TIME: 1 hour 15 minutes POUND CAKE |
