HOT DOG STEW 1

INGREDIENTS:

bullet10 hot dogs
bullet1 large onion, chopped
bullet2 ribs celery, finely chopped
bullet3 Tbsp butter, melted
bullet1 cup ketchup
bullet3 cups water + 1/4 cup
bullet1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
bullet4 potatoes, peeled & cubed
bullet4 carrots, sliced into rings
bullet1 Tbsp chopped parsley
bullet2 Tbsp flour
bullet2 cups biscuit mix
bulletSalt & pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS:  Cut dogs into 1/2 inch slices.  Sauté dogs with onions in butter using a deep skillet.  When dogs are lightly browned add ketchup, 3 cups water, Worcestershire sauce, salt & pepper.  Bring to a boil, add potatoes, carrots & parsley.  Cover & reduce to a simmer & cook for 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender.  Combine flour & 1/4 cup water, mix to blend well & add to the hot dogs.  Stir to mix well & simmer about 5 minutes while sauce thickens.  Follow package directions to mix biscuit mix for dumplings & drop by spoonfuls into the stew.  Cover & simmer 10 minutes or until dumplings are done.
