HAMBURGER STEW 1

INGREDIENTS:

bullet1 LB ground beef
bullet1 onion, chopped
bullet1 red bell pepper, seeded & chopped
bullet1 garlic, chopped
bullet1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes with liquid
bullet1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
bullet1 can (14 oz) black beans, rinsed & drained
bullet1/2 cup golden raisins
bullet1/2 cup green olives with pimento
bullet1 tsp diced oregano
bullet1/4 tsp allspice
bullet1 cinnamon stick

DIRECTIONS:  Using a large skillet brown hamburger, remove from skillet & drain off all but 1 Tbsp of the fat.  Add onion, garlic & bell pepper & brown slightly, return beef to skillet & add remaining ingredients.  Mix well & reduce heat.  Simmer slightly covered for 15 minutes.  Adjust salt & pepper to taste & remove the cinnamon stick.

SERVINGS:  4-6                                TIME:  30 minutes

SERVING TIPS:  If using BASIC HAMBURGER adjust ingredients accordingly.  Stew is best with steamed rice & warm flour tortillas.
