FRENCH TOAST 2

INGREDIENTS:

bullet1 cup brown sugar
bullet1/2 cup butter, melted
bullet3 tsp McCormick® Ground Cinnamon, divided
bullet3 tart apples (Granny Smith is best), peeled, cored & thinly sliced
bullet1/2 cup dried cranberries (or raisins)
bullet1 loaf Italian or French bread, cut into 1-inch thick slices
bullet6 large eggs
bullet1 1/2 cups milk
bullet1 Tbsp McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract

DIRECTIONS:  Combine brown sugar, butter & 1 tsp cinnamon in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.  Add apples & cranberries; toss to coat well.  Spread apple mixture evenly over the bottom of baking dish.  Arrange slices of bread on top.  Mix eggs, milk, vanilla & remaining 2 tsp cinnamon until well blended.  Pour mixture over bread, soaking bread completely.  Cover & refrigerate 4 to 24 hours.  Bake, covered with aluminum foil, in a preheated 375 F oven for 40 minutes.  Uncover & bake 5 more minutes.  Remove from the oven, let stand 5 minutes.  Serve warm.
