CHILI BURGER
INGREDIENTS:
 | 2 LB ground beef |
 | LB hot bulk sausage |
 | 2 Tbsp fresh lime juice |
 | 1 oz Cajun chili seasoning |
 | 2 Tbsp olive oil |
 | 1 cup chopped green onion |
 | 2 cloves garlic, minced |
 | 1/3 cup chopped green bell pepper |
 | 1/3 cup chopped red bell pepper |
 | 2 (or more) jalapeno peppers, seeded & minced |
 | 1 small zucchini, chopped |
 | 3/4 cup hot barbecue sauce |
 | 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce |
 | 2 Tbsp molasses |
 | 1 cup tomatoes, seeded & diced |
 | 2 tsp grated lime peel |
 | 12 large hamburger buns or onion buns |
DIRECTIONS: Combine beef, sausage, lime
juice & chili seasoning, blending well. Shape into 12 patties.
Grill patties until fully cooked. Meanwhile, combine in a large skillet
heat the oil & add green onion, garlic, peppers & zucchini sauté 3-4
minutes then add the barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce & molasses.
Cook stirring often until liquid is almost cooked away then stir in the tomatoes
& lime peel. Server burgers on toasted buns topped with the sauce
mixture.
