CHILI BURGER

INGREDIENTS:

bullet2 LB ground beef
bullet LB hot bulk sausage
bullet2 Tbsp fresh lime juice
bullet1 oz Cajun chili seasoning
bullet2 Tbsp olive oil
bullet1 cup chopped green onion
bullet2 cloves garlic, minced
bullet1/3 cup chopped green bell pepper
bullet1/3 cup chopped red bell pepper
bullet2 (or more) jalapeno peppers, seeded & minced
bullet1 small zucchini, chopped
bullet3/4 cup hot barbecue sauce
bullet2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
bullet2 Tbsp molasses
bullet1 cup tomatoes, seeded & diced
bullet2 tsp grated lime peel
bullet12 large hamburger buns or onion buns

DIRECTIONS:  Combine beef, sausage, lime juice & chili seasoning, blending well.  Shape into 12 patties.  Grill patties until fully cooked.  Meanwhile, combine in a large skillet heat the oil & add green onion, garlic, peppers & zucchini sauté 3-4 minutes then add the barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce & molasses.  Cook stirring often until liquid is almost cooked away then stir in the tomatoes & lime peel.  Server burgers on toasted buns topped with the sauce mixture.
