CHILI 1
INGREDIENTS:
 | 1 1/2 lb ground beef (coarsely ground if possible) |
 | 1 Tbsp oil |
 | 1 large onion, chopped |
 | 2 cloves garlic, chopped (or to taste) |
 | 1 can (15 oz) whole tomatoes, with juice |
 | 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste |
 | 1 cup beer, room temperature |
 | 1 cup beef broth |
 | 1/3 cup chili powder |
 | 1/4 tsp Tabasco |
 | 1 tsp salt |
 | 1/2 tsp garlic powder |
 | 1 can (15 oz) pinquito beans |
DIRECTIONS: Using a heavy Dutch oven
brown the meat in the oil then drain off excess fat. Add onions &
garlic. Sauté until onions are tender. Add remaining ingredients,
reserving the beans. Simmer for 45 minutes. Add beans & cook
covered 15 minutes more.
SERVINGS:
6-8
TIME: 1 hour
SERVING TIPS: Serve in BREAD BOWLS
topped with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, oyster crackers, chopped red or
green onion or what ever is desired.
