BAKED SPARERIBS

INGREDIENTS:

bullet4 LB farmer style spareribs (lean & boneless)
bullet2 cloves garlic, chopped
bullet1 large onion, chopped
bullet3 Tbsp butter
bullet1 can (16 oz) crushed tomato
bullet1 cup celery, finely diced
bullet1 cup ketchup
bullet2 Tbsp brown sugar
bullet1 tsp dry mustard
bullet1 can (10 1/2 oz) beef broth

DIRECTIONS:  roast ribs in a preheated 300 F (148.89C) oven uncovered for 1 hour.  Meanwhile, brown onion & celery in the butter using a heavy sauce pan, then add remaining ingredients.  Allow to cook down  bit,, stirring occasionally. Pour over the ribs (after 1 hour), cover the ribs with foil & continue to cook about 45 minutes, basting a couple times.

SERVES:  6                               TIME:  2 hours

SERVING TIPS:  Serve with a crock pot full of damp & warm wash cloths that you have added a few drops of lemon juice to each.
