BAKED BEANS 2

 

INGREDIENTS:

bullet1 can (15 oz) Navy beans. rinsed & drained
bullet1 can (15 oz) Great Northern beans, rinsed & drained
bullet1/2 cup beer
bullet1/3 cup (or more) minced red onion
bullet1/3 cup ketchup
bullet3 Tbsp light molasses
bullet2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
bullet1 tsp dry mustard
bullet1/2 tsp ground ginger
bullet4-6 slices bacon
bullet1 tsp cider vinegar, optional

DIRECTIONS:  Preheat oven to 350 F.  Place beans in 11x7 " glass baking dish.  Combine beer, onion, ketchup, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, vinegar if desired and ginger in medium bowl.  Pour over beans; toss to coat.   Cut bacon into 1 inch pieces; arrange in single layer over beans.  Bake uncovered 40 to 45 minutes or until most of liquid is absorbed and bacon is browned.

SERVINGS:  6-8                                  TIME:  1 hour

SERVING TIPS:  For the family cook-out precook the beans & refrigerate.  Warm in the oven or microwave.
